Delegate Clarke N. Hogan was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and moved to Keysville, Virginia in 1977. He is married to the former Ellen Gray Maybank of Charleston, South Carolina and they have four children – Holt, Monte, Douglas and Eliza.
Delegate Hogan attended Charlotte County public schools and The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. H received a BA in English from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 1991. After college he returned to Keysville and entered the family business, Ontario Hardwood Company, Inc., where he is now President.
He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2001 to represent the 60th District, comprised of all of Charlotte and Halifax Counties and portions of Prince Edward and Nottoway Counties.
Hogan divides his time between running Ontario Hardwood and representing rural Southern Virginia in Richmond. His committee appointments include Appropriations; Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources; and Rules. He also serves on the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Revitalization Committee and the Commission on Electric Utility Restructuring.
